If you’re planning a girls weekend away in Europe and automatically looking at Lisbon or Palma, Budapest might be the wildcard option worth considering instead. After researching it recently for a client trip, it quickly became one of my favourite city break recommendations for groups wanting a mix of great hotels, cocktail bars, nightlife, spas and genuinely good food without ridiculous prices or overly “hen do” energy. It’s stylish, fun and surprisingly good value, especially for a 3-night trip in March or April when sunshine elsewhere in Europe isn’t guaranteed anyway.
